SITELLE info

SITELLE is an Imaging Fourier Transform Spectroghaph for the visible. Therefore, it as an adjustable spectral resolution. Its pixels size are 0.32 arcsecond and its field of view is 11 arcminutes square. For SIGNALS we use the SN1, SN2 and SN3 filter covering the main emission lines of the visible at a resolution of 1000, 1000 and 5000 respectively.

SITELLE produces interferogram datacubes that can be reduce using the ORBS software. Here is an example of some raw images acquired with a laser source.

Once reduces, the data are hyperspectral datacube in the .hdf5 file format. Those can be analyze using the ORCS software. each datacube contain the spatial and spectral information over the bandwidth of the filter used for the observation. Here is an example for M33 with the SN3 filter:
